Chapter 11
Conclusion
Some of what is
written in this book may be controversial and may not fit into your belief
system. That is fine.
You are free to accept or reject any or all of the concepts here.
However, if you have read this far there must be at least some things
that interest you or cause you to question your own beliefs.
You may want to re-read it in a few months with a new perspective.
Perhaps the biggest
obstacle to accept is that the Bible is not the word of God.
The word of God is God communicating with us in whatever form that may
be. It might also be difficult to
accept that Satan had dominion over the earth and is probably responsible for
much of what is written in the Old Testament.
However if you accept that God is Love, as is one of the main themes of
this book, the Satan dominion theory would explain much of what is in the Old
Testament that does not come from love.
Trinity
There is the Holy
Trinity of God: the omniscient Father of wisdom, the omnipresent Spirit of life
and the omnipotent Son of Love which is the Christ or anointing of God.
There is also the
trinity of man. You are a spirit,
which is a part of the Spirit of God, you have a soul that is connected to the
Soul of God, and you live in a material, physical body, at least for now.
There is a symbol
that represents these two trinities; it is the Jewish Star of David.
It is made of two equilateral triangles interlaced.
One is pointing down to represent the Holy Trinity, and the other is
pointing up to represent the trinity of man.
When I first became
interested in spiritual things I asked God for wisdom.
Then I had a vision of an equilateral triangle, and each point of that
triangle was a point on another triangle. Each
point of those triangles was a point of another triangle, and it went on ad
infinitum.
The
Way to the Secret Place
God poured out the
Christ anointing onto and into Jesus so he could release the Love of God into
the world. God is Love.
When we express the Love of God we are on our way to the Secret Place of
the Most High where we can abide under the Shadow of the Almighty and be
protected from the evils of the world.
We don’t have to be
perfect, even Jesus didn’t express his anointing of Love all the time.
Paul gave us an outline of the Love of God in 1 Corinthians Chapter 13.
We should try to live by that outline as much as we can.
We should be patient, kind, charitable, hopeful and forgiving.
We should not be jealous or prideful.
We should be concerned for others above ourselves.
We should not be touchy, fretful or resentful.
We should not think evil thoughts.
Paul also gave us
some guidelines for how to think in Philippians 4:8.
We should think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely,
virtuous and praiseworthy. If there
is a good report, that is what we should think on.
There is a good
reason for that. We live in a sea
of thoughts, especially our own thoughts. We
attract to us the things we think about. This
brings us to a dilemma. We should
read the Bible every day, but there are a lot of things in the Bible that do
not fit into the things we should think on.
However we should not make the Bible into an idol.
It is a good tool to use but to call it the Word of God puts it on a
pedestal as an idol.
The
Bible
When God created
Adam, man, He gave him dominion over the earth.
Adam, man, disobeyed God. He
was tempted by the fallen angel, Satan, to go after the knowledge of good and
evil. Before that he only knew good
and God. When he succumbed to the
temptation he turned dominion over to Satan and Satan tried to take the place
of God in the earth.
Much of the Old
Testament isn’t God’s word, it is Satan’s word.
God is Love and there is no jealousy in Love, but Satan said, “I am a
jealous God.” So what do we do
with the Bible? We read it and take
the verses that we know are of God because they come from Love, and we make
them a part of our consciousness. This
is one thing we can do to keep us on the path to the Secret Place of the Most
High.
One of the best
places in the Bible to spend some time is in the book of Matthew Chapters 5 and
6. This is where we find a lot of
the teachings of Jesus. One of the
most important things he teaches us is the two great commandments.
God gave Moses the Ten Commandments.
The Hebrew leaders turned them into thousands of laws, but Jesus boiled
it down into two things that will guide us on our trip to the Secret Place.
They are Love God, and love your neighbor.
It may sound simple but it takes lifetimes to accomplish.
The
Breath of Life
When we were born and
took in that first breath the Trinity of God and the trinity of our personal
self entered into the fetus and it became a living soul.
As long as we continue to breathe our spirit and soul live in that
physical body, along with the Trinity of God.
However, as we learn to live in that body we are also taught to bury the
God that is in us. Fortunately we
can attune ourselves to God through the Christ anointing that Jesus saturated
the earth with, and awaken the God within and get started on our way to the
Secret Place.
It takes more than
one lifetime to train ourselves to get to and stay in the Secret Place.
We can make some progress but eventually the material body that we live
in will wear out and we will have to leave it behind.
After a time living in a spiritual body we can come back into another
fetus and start a new life as an infant. Perhaps
unknown to our material mind, our soul picks up where it left off on the trip
to the Secret Place.
This is the basic
concept of the doctrine of reincarnation. If
we had only one lifetime to learn the knowledge of good and evil and get
through it to the Secret Place where there is only God and good, it would be an
impossible task.
Prayer
Jesus gave us an
outline for prayer in what is known as the Lord’s Prayer.
However, before he gave us the prayer he taught us that God knows our
needs before we ask. Then he taught
us to start our prayers with praise and worship for the Lord, then ask to be
connected to God. We don’t have
to ask for this, that and the other; just ask for our daily bread.
That includes everything we need, and God always has a better idea.
If we want to ask for anything we should ask for wisdom.
Then the prayer talks
about forgiveness. God forgives us
but we have to forgive others and ourselves.
Giving and receiving are two sides of the same coin.
We give forgiveness, or anything else, and we receive forgiveness, or
anything else. Then we ask for
guidance to keep us on the right path. We
close the prayer with more praise and worship.
Three
Approaches to Prayer
When we are dealing
with a health issue or any other issue there are three approaches to prayer.
One is to talk to God about the issue.
Two is to talk to the issue about God and your connection to him and the
Holy Trinity. The third is to get
to that Secret Place of the Most High where the issue cannot exist.
Even if we can just touch on that Secret Place for a moment that could
be enough to destroy a cancer, resolve a financial issue or harmonize a
relationship.
We don’t have to
apply just one approach at a time. We
can do all three at once. That is
like putting our all into it and could make the whole thing much more powerful.
Big
and Small
In the Hindu religion
they speak of the days and nights of Brahma, or God.
During the day, God breathes out and the universe expands.
Science calls it the big bang theory.
When He breathes in the universe contracts.
One day of Brahma is about 4.2 billion years of our time.
To help us stay
humble we can realize that we live on a tiny piece of dust at the edge of a
galaxy in a universe of more galaxies than we can count.
On the other hand we are one with the omni of God.
He is present everywhere all the time, is all powerful and knows
everything. He will share His
wisdom with us. All we have to do
is ask.
Tips
for the Trip
You never read in the
Bible that a prophet said, ‘the Bible or the Torah or the book of the law
came to me.” You will find that
they say that the Word of the Lord came to them.
The Word of the Lord comes to us too.
God has many ways that He can communicate to us and intuition is at the
top of the list. We need to learn
to listen to that still small voice within.
Our goal is, or
should be, to get to the Secret Place of the Most High and dwell under the
Shadow of the Almighty as much as possible.
There is where we are one with God completely and there is no room for
anything that is not good. Only
love can exist there. We may reach
it and even stay for a little bit while we live in the body we are in now, but
to become a permanent resident takes lifetimes on the path.
Here are some things
we can do to help us move forward on the path to the Secret Place.
We can forget
McDonald’s “I’m lovin’ it” and Burger King’s “Have it your
way,” and make our own jingle with some verses from our favorite praise and
worship music. Listen over and over
until we can’t get it out of our minds.
We can monitor and
change our vocabulary. Instead of
using four letter words we can use words of praise and worship.
We can say things like:
Bless God,
Hallelujah,
Praise the Lord,
Glory be to God, or just Glory.
There is a woman
preacher that is retired now, but she used to teach a healing school.
All through the class she would say “Glory” at just about every
pause.
Yogananda was known
for just walking around saying “God, God, God.” over and over.
Even if those four
letter words slip out we can counter them with the words of praise.
Eventually our vocabulary will change for the better, and that will help
us keep God on our minds.
We can read the Bible
daily.
We can study parts of
the Bible that inspire us, and we can contemplate them and meditate on them.
We can commit helpful
verses to memory and attach them to daily activities to make them a permanent
part of our consciousness.
We can pray for
ourselves and others. We can ask
God to give us wisdom.
We can do breathing
exercises to feed our spirit.
We can fast to
enhance our spirit over our flesh.
We can chant sounds
that create peace and harmony around us.
We can focus our
attention on all the parts of our bodies and realize that there is a spiritual
body there as well as a material body. We
can begin to feel the God within us. God
is omnipresent. He is in every cell
of our bodies. He is in every atom
in the universe. We just have to
attune to Him, just like we tune our radios to the station we want to hear.
We can focus our
thoughts on the Love of God and all things that come from love.
We can learn to
listen to that still small voice within and know that it is God speaking to us.
Perhaps the most
important thing is that we must have a strong desire to get to that Secret
Place and realize our oneness with God. If
we don’t want it, we won’t put out the effort it takes to get there.
If we continue our
pursuit for as long as it takes we will get there.
It may take lifetimes but eventually we will get to the Secret Place
and, as it says in Revelation, become a pillar and not have to go out again.
Revelations
3:12
He that overcometh, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he
shall go no more out…
What happens then?
Perhaps we will start a new Garden of Eden.
You thought it would end? No,
there is no end in the world of the spirit.
Only in the finite world of matter are we constricted to the concepts of
time and space.
And so it is.
